Let’s create something timeless.

Who We Are.

Even with all the thought and preparation that couples give to their big moment, many feel like their wedding day is over in a flash. Our Type Love believes a creative way to capture the evanescent moments of your special day is to return to the nostalgic technologies of ink and paper. Using vintage tools like typewriters, pens, quills, and inkwells, we transform the stories of your wedding into written keepsakes for you to save in a scrapbook, hang on the wall, or tuck away in a music box to rediscover, years from now.

Our mission at Antiquated Arts is to restore writers by reacquainting them with the timeless technologies of creativity. We are proud to share our creation, Our Type Love, a tailored wedding experience for the library-loving couple hoping to add some literary flair to their special day. Creativity and love go hand-in-hand, and Our Type Love is here to help you craft an experience unique to you. Would you like a commissioned poem, a poetry recitation at your ceremony, or help crafting your wedding vows? How about creating an artsy alternative to your guestbook with vintage typewriters and inkwells, where guests can craft messages alongside professional writers? The possibilities are as endless as your imagination. Your wedding day should be as creative as you are, and Our Type Love wants to help you ensure yours is one for the books.

When we first fell in love, we told one another through literary keepsakes. We wrote letters on old typewriters and penned poems on scratch sheets of paper. These words of affirmation crafted the story of our relationship and seeing these memories cemented in print makes our bond feel timeless. The more we told others about “our type of love,” we realized how much our friends value the art of expressing affection in creative ways. We created Our Type Love because we wanted to share our gifts as professional writers to help people in love envision their perfect wedding day. If you believe creativity is key to affinity, then you might understand what Our Type Love is about. We can help enrich your wedding or reception, and we are available for consultation if you need assistance preparing for your big day. We would be honored to help you capture the story of your wedding.

This is us.

Dr. Adam Henze

Dr. Adam Henze is a researcher, educator, and spoken word artist, and has shared his poetry in over 30 states, as well as Puerto Rico, Canada, England, Ireland, and the United Arab Emirates. He is a co-director of Slam Camp, a summer writing academy for teenage poets, and founding director of Power of a Sentence, a prison literacy program in Indiana. Adam received his PhD from the Literacy, Culture, and Language Education department at Indiana University, and works as a Research Associate at the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community. He is a Bureau Speaker for Indiana Humanities and was the Official Poet of the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500. Adam co-founded Antiquated Arts with his partner Siren Hand in 2020, and is excited about their newest program together—Our Type Love—because it is an opportunity to endlessly explore the nature of love alongside one another. Antiquated Arts has a booth at Exit 76 Antique Mall in Edinburgh, Indiana, where Adam and Siren sell typewriters, vintage cameras, inkwells, ephemera, and other literary keepsakes.

Siren Hand

Siren Hand is an Indianapolis writer and disabled Army veteran who has always played with poetry to process the world around them.  Siren acknowledges written and spoken word for being the connection between all meaningful experiences in their life, and wants to pass that love onto others.  They are currently attending IUPUI for Creative Writing and Sociology, with the goal of a Masters in Poetic and Narrative Therapy.  Additionally, Siren develops community interfaith discussion spaces through Hallowed Ground, is the Access & Disability Chair for Southern Fried Poetry Inc., and is the Founder & Curator of Observe the Word Poetry which examines how poetry and poets give back to our communities for positive, lasting change. Antiquated Arts is their latest (and proudest) project, developed with their partner and love, Adam Henze.  They would be remiss to leave unmentioned their three wonderful (though troublemaking) dogs: Meeko, Domino, and Hippo.
